Printemps is an original Zentangle® tangle introduced by Maria Thomas.
Spring(s)! What a fun name for a fun tangle pattern. This one took me a lot of practice and at long last I’ve replaced my first attempt. Printemps is one of the first tangles to appear on the site when I launched it in May 2010. And of course Printemps is French for Spring.
CZT® Suzanne McNeill gives us her illustrated instructions and her version of Printemps below. UPDATE: Early in the Summer of 2014 Suzanne McNeill’s blog was removed and all the posts and images were lost. The site is being reconstructed as much as possible but the links will no longer be the same. Many of her patterns on TanglePatterns can quite easily be figured out. For those that might be a little more difficult, Suzanne has graciously given me permission to post her copyright-protected images on TanglePatterns for your convenience.

UPDATE December 11, 2017 – Project Pack #2. As part of the Twelve Days of Zentangle, 2017 Edition, Maria Thomas tangles a variation of Printemps (at 8:24).
UPDATE September 5, 2018 – CZT Margaret Bremner includes Printemps in her “And then some” series demonstrating a few ways you can experiment with this Zentangle-original tangle.
UPDATE December 9, 2018 – Project Pack #04. As part of the Twelve Days of Zentangle, 2018 Edition series, Rick begins this Day 7 video demonstrating how to tangle Printemps.
UPDATE April 2019 – Project Pack #05. In Day 8’s video, Maria demonstrates how to tangle “weighted Printemps”, beginning at 9:23.

Unfortunately the link on this page to Suzanne McNeill’s blog (and therefore the link in your book Tanglepatterns Beginners Guide to Zentangle) does not work. The page no longer exists.
Is there any chance of doing a step-out on this website??? Pleeeeeeze?
The steps have been added to this page, please read the explanation for the links to Suzanne McNeill’s blog not working. Also note these steps are for a variation of the Zentangle®-original Printemps, as explained in the steps image.
