How to draw POKEROOT

Zentangle pattern: POKEROOTPokeroot is the “mother” tangle pattern to the Pokeleaf pattern. The main difference between the two is the shape of the leaf part of the pattern. Pokeroot looks more like a lollipop shape to me – or berries as Sandy describes. Pokeleaf is shaped, uh, like a leaf.

Pokeroot is an original Zentangle® pattern designed by Maria Thomas. “Pokeroot was one of our first tangles. It was inspired by a pokeroot plant growing in a vacant lot across from our home. Pokeroot is an unusual name for us to use for a tangle because it is named for what inspired its pattern. We usually choose names that don’t create a preconception of how a tangle should look,” writes Rick Roberts.

Sandy Bartholomew gives us her rendition of the “how-to” showing both of these patterns together, here.
