Pokeleaf is a variant of Pokeroot.
The main difference between the two tangles is the shape of the “leaf” part of this pattern. Pokeroot looks more like a lollipop shape to me — or berries from the plant that it’s based on.
Pokeleaf is a Zentangle®-original tangle introduced by Maria Thomas. The link to her illustrated instructions for this tangle is here.

UPDATE: November 11, 2017 – Project Pack #01. As part of this project series, in this video (8:20) Zentangle co-founder Maria Thomas demonstrates Pokeleaf using White Sakura Gelly Roll Pens on a Renaissance Ten Zentangle tile. She has the assistance of Molly to hold the tile for her because her left arm is in a cast. And observations from Rick and Molly’s daughters Indy and Mazzie complete the family ensemble video. Maria uses a regular graphite pencil to enhance the finished tile together with a white charcoal pencil.
