That’s a lot of Refreshers and literally hundreds of tangle treasures “unburied”.
In thinking about this upcoming “100” milestone, last week I took time to go back through every one of them. (When you click on the tag “refresher” in the left sidebar under TANGLES BY ARTIST, you get the entire list with links.)
At the beginning of the series I didn’t say much by way of introduction although in Tangle Refresher 3 I explained how the name “Buried Treasure” came about.
As time went on, occasionally I used the biweekly opportunity to share things from daily life and/or some additional creative inspiration. Here are 10 gems I unearthed in the first 100 Refreshers:
- Tangle Refresher 25 – (May 2012) Zentangle® milestone and mindfulness study
- Tangle Refresher 53 – (June 2013) Robert Genn and thoughts on creating intuitively (personal favorite!)
- Tangle Refresher 60 – (September 2013) Harmonizing with Feng Shui
- Tangle Refresher 76 – (May 2014) Enjoying your “diary” of Zentangle
- Tangle Refresher 84 – (August 2014) “Anything is possible, one stroke at a time™” and the Zentangle Method of mindfully creating unplanned, abstract art
- Tangle Refresher 85 – (September 2014) Wisdom from The Book of Zentangle, and don’t give up on a tangle
- Tangle Refresher 86 – (September 2014) Touching base with the core of Zentangle, the honest-to-goodness basics
- Tangle Refresher 88 – (October 2014) Frugal Friday – Micron surgery and making your own tortillions
- Tangle Refresher 95 – (January 2015) What to do if you get stuck while creating a Zentangle
- Tangle Refresher 97 – (February 2015) Exploring the possibilities of auras
With each new Refresher I also highlight links to earlier content on the site and feature them in the section after the tangles called “More good stuff …“.
I hope you get as much enjoyment going back and looking at the “history” of the tangles posted as I do.
I encourage you to visit each of the Refreshers – even if the patterns are familiar to you – to see if there’s a tip or technique there you might learn or be reminded of.
Remember to check the comments too, and as always you are invited to add your own thoughts. So much gets buried in the flow of new tangles and this series is a quick and easy way to brush up.
* * *
The Tangle Refresher series, aka Buried Treasure, spotlights hidden tangle gems from the past. It can remind you of tangles you might not have used for a while or introduce you to some you haven’t come across yet.
Here are five more tangle pattern gems and a Tangle Refresher from a year (or two) ago for your tangling pleasure. Remember to check out the “More Good Stuff” links below too. Zenful tangling!
BTW as you visit these tangles it would be great if you’d take a moment to leave a comment and Tweet or “like” them on Facebook to share them with your followers. Sharing links are on the left side of each tangle’s page. Thanks!

100 already !! I always enjoy them, they inspire me to re-try them with some I have even totally forgotten about, I discover again with pleasure!
So interesting you have also brought forward some articles and advice with them. I am filing this email in my “tangling” file so I can re-read them also.
Thanks again Linda,
Sue
