Tangle Refresher!

Here we go with our first Tangle Refresher of 2012!

The cool thing for me about doing this series is that I get to update information and links that have changed since the patterns were originally posted. A very pleasant form of housekeeping. It’s also a bit of a journal because I’m reminded of what was going on in my life at the time I was adding them to the site.

I especially enjoyed revisiting Michele Beauchamp’s Today poem when I added Wist to today’s Buried Treasure. She has moved it from her blog’s sidebar to a page of its own, and converted it to one of her gorgeous pieces of art. I am honored to have a signed edition of one of her Today originals she gave me at the CZT® seminar last October. Thanks again, Michele!

Okay, on with the series …

The Tangle Refresher series, aka Buried Treasure, is all about highlighting hidden tangle gems from the past. It can remind you of patterns you haven’t used for a while or introduce you to tangles you might not have learned yet.

Here’s what was new in the Zentangle® world a year (and sometimes longer) ago – five tangle pattern gems for your tangling pleasure.

Buried Treasure from a year ago
Zentangle pattern: Lotsadots Lotsadots
Zentangle pattern: Printemps Printemps
Zentangle pattern: Wist Wist – and Michele’s Today poem

Zentangle pattern: Lotus Pods

I am extremely excited about Zentangle! Just ordered Linda’s intro kit and became a yearly supporter of the Tanglepatterns.com website. Finding this new art may be just what the doctor ordered for a stress relief. Have been “tangling” the last three evenings and the more I practice, the more relaxed I become. Just knowing I don’t have to be a professional artist to “tangle”, gives me freedom to be myself. I knew one day my doodles would come in handy! Thanks Linda and Thanks to all the contributors of this site. Next, order Moleskin, Tombow and pens! Oh, and did I say, I am like a kid at Christmas awaiting the Tangle 2012 pattern PDF!!!!
