How to draw DIAMOND DROPS

Zentangle pattern: Diamond Drops. Image © Linda Farmer and TanglePatterns.com. ALL RIGHTS RESERVED. You may use this image for your personal non-commercial reference only. The unauthorized pinning, reproduction or distribution of this copyrighted work is illegal.Diamond Drops is a tangle pattern by Janice Sherlock, “a Seattle artist exploring drawing, jewelry design, metalsmithing, collage, mixed media, found object sculpture and fiber arts. I’m currently trying my hand at Zentangle® to get my creative juices flowing.” This is her first tangle on the site.

Diamond Dropsseemed to come to me quite literally one step at a time, like a cartoonist not knowing what’s going to happen in the next panel frame….

What I really liked about this tangle is how its construction surprised me, it isn’t drawn the way I expected by looking at the finished tangle. Tangles with an element of surprise are the most fun to draw!

In Janice’s illustration of Diamond Drops she uses an aura, one of six Zentangle® enhancement techniques. In my example here I didn’t add an aura but I did add a couple of embellishments.

Janice’s step-by-step instructions for drawing Diamond Drops are here on flickr where she is known as Moon Attic.

Check out the tag janices for more of Janice’s patterns on TanglePatterns.com.

    Dear Linda,
Your web-site is simply wonderful and I wonder where we Zentanglers would be without you! I just joined yesterday and wonder now how I can access the Tangle Guide.
Thank you for all you do,
    Audrey

    • Linda Farmer

Hi Audrey, the Guide was emailed to you this morning but it was bounced back. I’ve just sent you another email explaining what you need to do. Your internet service provider blocks large files and google mail is the answer to this problem. Thanks!

  • Hi Linda – I have only just found your site and love it !!!! I have subscribed and look forward to receiving the guide – Thanks for sharing your talent x Hilda

Has the tangle pdf gone out yet?

    • Linda Farmer

Hi Judy, the PDF has been emailed to all paid supporters. I don’t have a PayPal record of your email address, did you use a different email address when you donated? It’s possible you are an email subscriber which is a free service. If that’s the case and you would like a copy of the TANGLE GUIDE, please visit the Donate page to find out how to get one.
