Delighted to have you join me on another fine Monday and a fresh new week of possibilities.
We’ve got another fun and easy Monday tangle to explore and transport you to a calming mental space.
Piep is from Düsseldorf tangler Indrani Novello and Piep makes her 10th cool tangle on the site! {For newbies there are instructions below on how to find the rest of Indrani’s tangles.}
She writes,
Here in my state we’re still allowed to go outside on our own, or at a maximum with one other non-relative if you keep a 5 ft distance of each other. So I have been on long social distancing strolls with a friend.
The weather is glorious and spring has sprung – and the situation with Covid-19 seems far away and yet ever present as you step aside trying to keep your distance from other walkers and entire families on bikes.
Being outside in nature still is a balm – and it is always an inspiration.
Inspired by the lovely songbirds I heard, here’s “Piep” (the German word for chirp).
As you know, I like my zigzags and round shapes, in this case they form an abstracted bird’s head in profile.
I am thinking very often of all my US family and friends. The news, especially from New York is so shocking and worrying.
I hope you are well and that you will get through this pandemic safely and in good health!
How can you not feel inspired and invigorated by the gorgeous blue sky Indrani shares in her photo. I can smell the fresh spring air!
Indrani’s Piep is a simple and unusual ribbon-style tangle with opportunities for a wide variety of fun embellishments. I’ve turned my example 90°, it looks less abstract-birdlike and equally interesting.
Indrani illustrates the step-by-step instructions for drawing Piep below where she features it in a tile with the Zentangle®-originals Bales and Opus.
As you enjoy any of the tangles on the site, please leave a comment of thanks and encouragement to show the artists you appreciate them for sharing their creativity to inspire yours. Your thanks helps motivate them to continue to share! And please share a link to your favorite tangles on social media. Thanks!

Fun ribbon tangle. Have time today, so will play with it. Thanks for a spring share.
This is a beautiful, flowing type tangle; the type I especially like. Thank you for your story and the tangle.
Oh! I see the bird heads now. 😀 It took me reading your description to get it. LOL I really like this tangle and will be trying it out this evening. I also enjoyed your story. Thank you Indrani.
