Our very best wishes to all the Moms, Grannys, Grandmas, and GGs out there.
Enjoy your very special day — without you all, where would we be? 🙂
Friday’s Tyme comes from tangler Liz Drake and it’s her first on the site.
Liz introduces herself,
As it happens, life changes. Sometimes in big ways. After 40+ years in medical imaging, my husband and I decided to chase our dreams and buy a BIG TRUCK to pursue a life of over the road adventure.
Living and working together in about 80 square feet requires careful evaluation of what art supplies are worthy to carry along and which ones should be set aside for a later time.
Zentangle® has been my trucking salvation. It is portable, requires few supplies and does not demand to sit undisturbed while drying. It provides me with a private place to go inside my head while offering results that can be shared. In November 2020, God willing, I will be attending CZT training.
About her tangle she explains,
I chose the names because after making the original Tyme, I thought is resembled a Victorian timepiece.
Liz illustrates the step-by-step instructions for drawing Tyme below, “The tile for Tyme includes Knightsbridge, Footlites, and Zenplosion Folds.”
Here Liz demonstrates how to tangle her “squared-off variation” of Tyme, her sample tile includes the Zentangle-original Printemps.
As you enjoy any of the tangles on the site, please leave a comment of thanks and encouragement to show the artists you appreciate them for sharing their creativity to inspire yours. Your thanks helps motivate them to continue to share! And please share a link to your favorite tangles on social media. Thanks!

- "A Zentangle has no up or down and is not a picture of something, so you have no worries about whether you can draw a hand, or a duck. You always succeed in creating a Zentangle." Thus patterns that are drawings of a recognizable naturalistic or actual object, figure, or scene, are not tangles. A pattern is not always a tangle — here's what makes a tangle. Liz and Linda – I am a snowbird and start a road trip to warmer places as soon as the temperature begins to drop where I live. So Liz – I, too, am drawn to the compact nature of Zentangle. I fit 3-months worth of tangling supplies in one large shoebox supplemented with so many fun online resources available from my phone (first among them being Tangle Patterns!) I also make it a point to meet up with other tanglers for coffee or lunch. We can be found everywhere the wind blows. Happy travels.
Thanks for sharing!
