I’d like to publicly thank Yuriko Kagitani and Yoko Kageyama for their extraordinary generosity in helping bring the Japanese version of my What Makes a Zentangle® Tangle? article to life.

Both are Certified Zentangle Teachers (CZTs) who devoted their time and expertise to carefully reviewing the translation, refining the language, and making sure it reads naturally for Japanese readers. Their thoughtful suggestions and attention to detail have made this a far better resource than I could ever have created on my own.

And now, back to business … which just happens to include a tangle from Yuriko 🙂

Early this year several weeks in advance of Valentine’s Day I put out a call for heart tangles and Yuriko and others responded to that call. Lovechee and several other tangles have been waiting in the wings so we could spread out the love over time. Heart tangles are lovely any time of the year and today we add Lovechee to that category.

Yuriko introdues Lovechee,

Lovechee is a ribbon-style tangle that was born while thinking about the importance of connection with loved ones.

Because the thoughts feel like they are connected like a chain, I named it Lovechee.

I hope people can feel unseen connections through this tangle, and that it can be used not only for Valentine’s Day, but in many situations throughout the year.

Yuriko illustrates the step-by-step instructions for drawing Lovechee below where she plays with it in a variety of configurations in a sweet Zentangle® tile.
