How to draw HEART DIVIDED

Zentangle pattern: Heart Divided. Image © Linda Farmer and TanglePatterns. All rights reserved.Heart Divided is the second of today’s tangles, and it’s another lovely one from Aussie tangler Helen Williams, created a while ago in a Valentine’s-related feast of heart-based tangles.

Heart Divided  appears on the same page as Heart Box which is already in our library and Heart S. Heart S was added to our library earlier today as the last of this week’s tangles formed using the S stroke, so don’t miss it.

Although it may look like Heart Divided is formed by rows of the letter S and reversed S as we’ve been visiting this week in Phirst and Opsess, it is in fact created quite differently. Shading adds a very pretty scroll-like effect to this tangle.

Helen illustrates the original step-by-step instructions for drawing Heart Divided on her blog. As we’ve noted before, Helen’s examples are considerably larger size than Zentangle® art but they downsize very nicely. Update February 2020: Helen has recently retired from her blog and has removed much of its content with the exception of the tangles and their steps. In the process a couple of her tangles were removed by accident and she has generously given me permission to add her images to TanglePatterns for your convenience.

I have only just seent his video of Helen’s on LInda’s tangle site. Oh my gosh, how lovely and *relatively* easy it loooks to do. It will really take some practice to do this as easily and beautifully as Helen has done it, but it’s such a gorgeous Tangle to do !!! Great stuff Helen (and Linda!) Many thanks, I’m now going to check out some of your other video’s !! :-))) Kindest regards, and Thank You ladies !! Les:) XXX2
