Today we travel all the way to the west coast of Canada, to Surrey, British Columbia.
The lovely Pamela tangle is from Canadian artist and CZT Margaret Bremner.
Margaret has loads of great tangles on the site, be sure to check them out — more on how to do that below, but first … today’s tangle.
Pamela shares DNA with several other spiral-based tangles on the site including the recent Irice, and also Appease, Earjool, Mei, Butter and Rosé.
I liked Molly Hollibaugh’s description of this type of tangle in Project Pack #07. Pamela is one of those tangles “that blossom, radiate or in many cases create their own space rather than fill a predefined space. These tangles or tangling techniques are exciting and often become the star of the show.”
Margaret explains the source of inspiration for her tangle and its name:
When Pam, a friend of ours, moved from a house to an apartment several years ago, we purchased a matching coffee table and end table from her. I really like the metal rod pattern in the centers and have finally taken time to deconstruct it. …
It’s what I call a ‘vessel tangle’, a tangle with a lot of empty spaces that you can add to as you please.
Margaret illustrates the step-by-step instructions for drawing Pamela here on her blog where she includes a Zentangle® tile and several ZIA tiles demonstrating ways of exploring it especially as a “vessel” for other tangle fragments. You’ll also see a photo of her coffee table inspiration.
As you enjoy any of the tangles on the site, please leave a comment of thanks and encouragement to show the artists you appreciate them for sharing their creativity to inspire yours. Your thanks helps motivate them to continue to share! And please share a link to your favorite tangles on social media. Thanks!

Hi,
I have always enjoyed seeing and drawing Margaret’s designs. This one, Pamela is easy and pretty.
Thank you to Margaret. I wish I lived near you, so I could have classes with you.
Thank you, sincerely,
Bonnie
This is a beautiful tangle Margaret. I will be playing with it today. Thank you!
Thanks for Pamela, Had to stop and play with this one. Very fun.
Where is the how-to? Too much bother to search and then end up back at the page I began with.
“Patience you must have, my young padawan.”
The whole idea of me going to all this work to share information and help you learn is for you to actually READ it.
Seek and ye shall find – your efforts will be rewarded.
Love everything Margaret Bremner and Pamela is no exception. Beautiful and graceful.
