For a change of pace and because it’s still a holiday in many countries, today instead of a new tangle to explore we’re adding two new Zentangle® Kitchen Table Tangles (KTT) to our resource.
It’s a special double helping — a welcome zero calorie treat at the end of the Sugar Season 🙂 {That’s my term for the period beginning with Hallowe’en and going through Thanksgiving, Christmas, Valentine’s Day, and finishing up with a very chocolaty Easter.}
These videos are relaxing to watch and always contain useful tips and advice for your tangling pleasure.
KTT 027 – Fragments and Reticula
In today’s first video (9:21) in the Kitchen Table Tangles series, Maria explores Hemp/Eilusions/3Y as a grid/reticulum and demonstrates how using different fragments within the resulting triangles creates some lovely variations on this tangle.
Using the tangle as a grid/reticulum, Maria demonstrates how adding various fragments to it changes the whole look of the tangle. [This video can also be found on the Hemp page.]

KTT 028 – Crazy Cadent
In today’s second video (19:04) in the Kitchen Table Tangles series, Rick and Maria explore Crazy Cadent.
At around 13:00 when Maria finishes the first tile she then shows “a bunch of different samples so you can see the possibilities“. With each sample Maria demonstrates the individual fragment that makes that sample different. [This video can also be found on the Cadent and Crazy Cadent page.]

For a list of all the KTT videos with links to the publicly-available ones, visit the ZENTANGLES > ZENTANGLE KTT VIDEOS page on the top menu bar of any page on the site.
Background: The KTT videos are available in the Zentangle Mosaic app. Although most of the KTT videos are only available to the subscribers of the paid version of the app ($2.99/month, or $24.99/year), occasionally Zentangle makes a KTT video publicly available and I also add it to TanglePatterns as we’re doing today.

- "A Zentangle has no up or down and is not a picture of something, so you have no worries about whether you can draw a hand, or a duck. You always succeed in creating a Zentangle." Thus patterns that are drawings of a recognizable naturalistic or actual object, figure, or scene, are not tangles. A pattern is not always a tangle — here's what makes a tangle. TIP: tangles never start with pencil planning.
