Whooee, another week has come and gone and here we are at Friday again, already!
Today’s lovely Aahroma tangle is from novelist and tangler Jenna Black. This is Jenna’s ninth great tangle on the site.
She writes,
This one is inspired by the beautiful packaging of a set of essential oils I bought for my aromatherapy diffuser (hence the name).
It can work well as either a ribbon or a grid, and it can look wildly different depending on what you choose to do with the optional Step 5 embellishment.
It can also have a different feel based on how deep or shallow you draw the ogee grid. (Though personally, I don’t actually draw an ogee grid—I just do staggered rows of curly brackets, which creates the ogee effect much more easily for me.)
I remember Jenna’s easy method of drawing an ogee grid when we added her Shark Kisses tangle. I updated my article – “How to draw three types of grids for your Zentangles” – to include Jenna’s method, oh-so-long-ago.
It would be pretty to use a single element of Aahroma as a focal point, it appears very similar to a seashell …
Jenna illustrates the step-by-step instructions for drawing Aahroma below. She features it in a beautiful tile with a simpler variation, “I’ve used two of my favorite embellishments in the tile, along with a little bit of Betweed and Doodah.”
As you enjoy any of the tangles on the site, please leave a comment of thanks and encouragement to show the artists you appreciate them for sharing their creativity to inspire yours. Your thanks helps motivate them to continue to share! And please share a link to your favorite tangles on social media. Thanks!

And that’s it for this month! See ya back here on Monday for a June full of great tangles … have a great weekend!

Jenna, this looks so beautiful. I can’t wait to try it!
Thanks! I’d love to see what you do with it!
Fun stuff, thanks for the share.
Thanks! Hope you enjoy it!
Beautiful tangle. Thank you for sharing.
Have fun with it!
Another beautiful tangle to add to my collection. With many variations. Thank you.
Have fun playing with it!
I’m not great with the OGEE grid but I managed to make this tangle work! And I’m happy with it. Nice tangle– Thank you Jenna and Linda.
Drawing series of curly braces/brackets is the only way I can get a respectable OGEE grid myself. It was a real lightbulb moment for me when I figured it out. Glad you had success with it!
Thank you Jenna. It’s lovely! And it’s fun to draw.
