How to draw FANCY NANCY

Zentangle pattern: Fancy NancyFancy Nancy is a tangle by fellow Floridian and CZT® Adele Bruno. The pattern’s inspiration came from her CZT training in September and is named for one of her daughters, as she has with her previous two tangles Lanie and Cack.

One of the exercises in our training was to look around us for inspiration and come up with a pattern. The border on the conference room rug intrigued me and this pattern grew from interpreting the design. I called this pattern Fancy Nancy because my daughter Nancy quipped one day that if I was naming patterns after my girls and ‘working my way up the food chain’  she was next!

What a wonderful experience the seminar was I hope someday to see my fellow CZT’s again – I miss their company! I am so taken by the generosity with which Rick and Maria share their gift of Zentangle. It makes me want to enthusiastically pass it along to as many people as I am able! I am currently setting up classes in the Orlando area and will add that information to the Zentangle site when my plans are firm.”

Continuous line pattern enthusiasts will enjoy this tangle pattern and in her step-by-step instructions below Adele marks the stroke directions with an asterisk for you to follow. As she notes, Fancy Nancy “makes a lovely border or string line”.
