How to draw SCREEN

Zentangle pattern: ScreenHere’s another pattern that’s my favorite tangle type: a grid-based pattern! The Screen tangle comes from Canadian CZT® and artist Margaret Bremner. Some of Margaret’s wonderful mandalas were featured in the exciting new Zen Mandalas book.

Just for the fun of it I added a wee bit of shading here in my example. Screen offers all kinds of potential for variations. The pattern was “inspired by oriental screens”.

Margaret illustrates the step-by-step instructions for drawing her Screen tangle pattern and some variations, here.

Check out the tag margaretb for more of Margaret’s patterns on TanglePatterns.com.

I’ve started taking pictures of anythiing, houses, landscapes, windows. Anything and turning them into zentangles. I take the picture then print it in black and white and can see the patterns for zentangling. Just did a ‘workshop’ for all the prosecutor’s in Michigan in zentangling. Men, women (mostly)and kids. It was a big hit. The workshop was at the Grand Hotel on Machinac Island. A place worth googling.
