How to draw BETWEED – a Zentangle Video

Official Zentangle pattern: BetweedZentangle originators Maria Thomas and Rick Roberts just posted this video of their latest pattern Betweed.

This is the first time they’ve posted a video, and I’m sure we all hope it’s the first of many more to come.

ENJOY!!!

In addition, the step-by-step instructions for drawing the official Zentangle pattern Betweed are included in the September 28 (2010) newsletter, here.

Thank you so much for the video and I hope you continue with this format. The Betweed tangle is amazing and offers so many possibilities but if I just saw the tile without the tutorial I don’t know if I would have figured it out.

    Thanks again,
    Arline

Thanks for the video. I loved watching it, and it really does help to be able to watch as it is drawn, and listen to the commentary as the tangle evolves. loved it!

Dee – loved what you did with color and betweed, very nice thanks for posting it.

We are just starting out and your video was really wonderful to watch how casually a good design can develop! Thanks for the inspiration to keep on going!

  • I love these video tutorials! It gives you so much more insight into how these tangles are created than simple steps ever could. It also conveys Maria and Rick’s enthusiasm for tangling, which is really nice. Thanks for posting this on your site – they’re a real inspiration :-)

Hi Rick and Maria, ever since I discovered this beautiful art, just 2 days ago, I have become totally addicted to this new art that I am adding to my life. I have watched the first video on Zentangle, titled Betweed and am completely taking in awe over this beautiful art technique. I know that this will help me in my recovery after having open heart surgery for double by-pass with complications and my memory was affected and this is the perfect antidote for it. I am totally relaxed and focused.

I will be a Zentangler from now on. Thank you so much for sharing this with us. I even created a Zentangler book specifically for this purpose and I decorated it. Maybe I will post a picture sometime in the near future.

Hi Azaria, so glad you found the site and are enjoying tangling. You are among many many people who’ve written to say how much Zentangle has helped them through tough times. Best wishes for your relaxed recovery, Linda

  • Thank you, Maria and Rick, for this video. I’ve been wanting to try Zentangle—even bought your intro book—but wasn’t quite sure where to start. The video helps so much in understanding how it comes together. Soothing and inspiring, all at once.

  • HI – I have enjoyed watching the videos, however are there any teachers who are left handed?
I can adapt, but it might be nice for me to watch a fellow leftie.
    thanks.

Hi Paula, I’m not aware of videos by qualified Zentangle lefties but you should do just fine by following the link at the bottom to the newsletter where the steps are posted. Have fun!
