Hi y’all, it’s time for our Friday tangle and this one can be just a bit more challenging than Monday and Wednesday’s tangles.
But we can handle it!
SevenZees is from NY CZT Jody Genovese and it’s her 20th tangle on the site! Jody writes, “I will admit this is a higher focus, but once you get the flow it is easy.”
She explains why she named it SevenZees and offers several tips for success,
I’m calling it SevenZees because my foundation pattern has a base of that when you step back and take a look from a bird’s eye view.
-
- Bigger is better
- Every other row is identical, so it’s easier to draw every other row and then go back and fill the in between rows. i.e. draw rows 1, 3, 5 etc and then rows 2, 4, etc.
- When you start the diagonal rows (Step 3) draw the same direction all the way through the grid. If you try to alternate back and forth it is more confusing. You are always going from a flat side to a flat side.
- If you focus on two rows at a time ( rows 1 and 2, rows 3 and 4 etc) you start to see the pattern
Jody illustrates the step-by-step instructions for drawing SevenZees below and she features it in two fantastic tiles – a gorgeous Zendala nestled with orbs and a Diva Dance-like Scena, and a sweet white tile with Pokeleaf, Zinger and tiny whatnots 🙂
As you enjoy any of the tangles on the site, please leave a comment of thanks and encouragement to show the artists you appreciate them for sharing their creativity to inspire yours. Your thanks helps motivate them to continue to share! And please share a link to your favorite tangles on social media. Thanks!

I hope you have a beautiful weekend and I look forward to seeing you back here again next week for another inspiration of tangles 🙂 …

This looks like a lot of fun! I look forward to trying it. Sort of Why Not – ish.
Thank you Margaret. Love your comment. It gave me a good chuckle – ish :o)
Very cool tangle Jody
Hi Lesley, thank you so much. Appreciate you.
Wow – that’s a beauty. I know it’s gonna be a challenging one so I’ll set it aside for when I want that kind of focus to push me out of my comfort zone!
Thank you Jem. It may or may not take a couple of passes…but with your talent I’m not worried. Appreciate the kind words.
This is a type of tangle that I love. And I recognize myself in that. I would sign it without hesitation. It happens to me a lot with many of your tangles. I love them. I think we process in a similar way. I congratulate you on Sevenzees and on all your patterns.
Thanks so much Tomas. Truly means a lot coming from you. As you know I feel the same about all of your patterns. Lately I am using Oasis quite a lot in my journals. I just found Kangular this past week and have enjoyed playing with it as well. My heartfelt thanks for your kind words.
My this is going to be a challenge, but well worth the effort, it looks right corker and if I can manage to get that done right, it will definitely be a feather in my wee cap for myself :-))) Well done Jody !!! XX
:o) This made me smile Les. I hope you get that feather. Thank you for the kind words.
I had to start over. my brain had a hard time seeing the action. But I so love this tangle
Thank you for trying it Lynn. I admit it is tricky until you see the pattern and then it makes sense and becomes much easier. Thank you for you kind comment.
