How to draw BOW STRING

Happy Monday my tangling friends, today in the USA we are observing Memorial Day.

This is a special day when we remember and honor those who fought bravely and made the ultimate sacrifice in service to their country to preserve our freedom. We are forever grateful and we will never forget them.

I’m also saying a special prayer for all those souls we lost to COVID-19 over the last year and for their families, I can’t help feeling they too sacrificed for their country.

Today’s Bow String is a super easy and sweet tangle from Danish CZT Daniela Nielsen and it’s her second on the site. She shared her whimsical Why tangle with us recently.

Daniela writes,

I always loved drawing these bows.

So I decided to try out a new idea with them, and I ended up with this pattern.

The bows can be embellished in a lot of ways, I’m showing a few here.

In her ZIA tile, Daniela features Bow String with the Zentangle®-originals Crescent Moon, Doodah, Purk and Tipple.

For my example of Bow String I used Daniela’s variation but added the “ties” on both the top and bottom — no up or down in Zentangle.

Daniela illustrates the step-by-step instructions for drawing Bow String below and in the sixth step she shows two simple variations.
