How to draw POKEROOTY

Zentangle pattern: Pokerooty. Image © Linda Farmer and TanglePatterns.com. ALL RIGHTS RESERVED. You may use this image for your personal non-commercial reference only. The unauthorized pinning, reproduction or distribution of this copyrighted work is illegal.Pokerooty is a tangle from Taiwan CZT Damy (Mei Hua) Teng.

Damy cleverly grows the Zentangle®-original Pokeroot into a more “organized” structure. A tangleation of the original.

Damy shares two beautiful Zendala’s featuring Pokerooty.

The first one includes the Zentangle-original Printemps as well as one of the earliest tangles on the site from almost 10 years ago, CZT® Mary Elizabeth Martin’s Laced. Some Sepia Micron and General’s White Charcoal pencil combine with the black Micron 01 to add lovely interest … Damy has also dangled her initial around the edges as a decorative element!

In her second stunning Zendala, Damy includes several more Zentangle-original “toppers”: Zinger, Rixty, Sedgling and Mooka.

It took me a few practice runs to get the spacing figured out but once you “get” how to fit the elements together, it’s really an easy and fun tangle to play with.

Damy illustrates the step-by-step instructions for drawing Pokerooty below and in her sample tile she features it morphing into “Pokeleafy“.

Hmmm….done in fiery colors progressively, done the way Damy did her second tile, this would look like a fire burning. I’ll have to do it that way, see what happens 🙂
Looks like a fun one to work on on a potentially stormy Friday and Saturday, so I’m looking forward to this pattern.

  • fun play coming next time I get to tangle.
    Thanks for the share.
