How to draw MOON PIE

Moon Pie developed as a result of Maria embellishing her tiles of Rick’s new Hollis tangle.

Zentangle pattern: Hollis. Image © Linda Farmer and TanglePatterns.com. ALL RIGHTS RESERVED. You may use this image for your personal non-commercial reference only. The unauthorized pinning, reproduction or distribution of this copyrighted work is illegal. As Rick points out, the corners where Hollis (example on the right) forks present opportunities to add further embellishments, including the pretty tangle Maria added which she called Moon Pie.

While there are no separate steps instructions yet for Moon Pie, it is a simple embellishment that I’m totally confident you can deconstruct yourself. You can see examples here on the tiles included in the newsletter where Rick illustrates the step-by-step instructions for drawing Hollis.

I started at the bottom corner of each “fork” in Hollis and worked my way outwards, following Maria’s Zendala tile. Auras and orbs feature prominently 🙂 If and when separate steps are published I’ll add the link to this page.

There you have it, two new Zentangle-original tangles to play with this weekend.

1 comment to How to draw MOON PIE

  • Joyce Bruns

Love both of these tangles! I had no trouble at all drawing Moon Pie without a stepout, probably because it reminded me so much of Henna Drum, which is one of my “Mac and Cheese” tangles.

    Thanks, Linda.
