KaBoom is our second tangle for this double-festivity Easter and Passover weekend.
Both KaBoom and Kulakané are from Canadian CZT Tabitha Bedoukian.
Tabitha introduces KaBoom,
Two weeks ago, as I was driving, I noticed a company logo that I loved. I got home and started drawing it, which grew into KaBoom.
It was as I was practicing KaBoom that I realized I was building it the same way I had built Kulakané, and sure enough, going back, they are closely related! Well well.
KaBoom is essentially Kulakané “in the round”, making triangles instead of rectangles, and starting from a single point instead of along a line.
Tabitha suggests these tips for tangling KaBoom,
“To give the effect of drawing slices of concentric circles, draw the radiating lines straight, then the connecting line curved at about the same angle as all the other segments. Varying the size, width and how they overlap gives it an interesting, random look.”
Tabitha illustrates the step-by-step instructions for drawing KaBoom below and demonstrates some variations along with her pretty Zentangle tile featuring the Zentangle-originals Printemps and Tipple.
Don’t miss KaBoom‘s companion tangle Kulakané from earlier today …
As you enjoy any of the tangles on the site, please leave a comment of thanks and encouragement to show the artists you appreciate them for sharing their creativity to inspire yours.
Check out the tag tabithab for more of Tabitha’s tangles on TanglePatterns.com.
Enjoy both of these fun new tangles, and (should it apply) have a very Happy Easter and/or Happy Passover! Peace, love and chocolate …

- "A Zentangle has no up or down and is not a picture of something, so you have no worries about whether you can draw a hand, or a duck. You always succeed in creating a Zentangle." Thus patterns that are drawings of a recognizable naturalistic or actual object, figure, or scene, are not tangles. A pattern is not always a tangle — here's what makes a tangle. I can’t wait to experiment with this tangle over the weekend! Thank you for adding another fun tangle to the mix.
I think this tangle would look lovely as a flower in a ZIA tile.
Congratulations on having your double submission published! I`m so glad to hear that you are still tangling. I am hoping to persuade you to come to Montreal and give another course one day soon. I`ll be in touch via email soon.
Congratulations on your two new patterns chosen by tanglepatterns.com — they are beautiful and I will be trying them out soon!
Me too, wants to give this sweet tangle a try. Thanks for sharing
I like the irregular designs!
Lots of fun doing this one! Thanks!
