How to draw BUTTERCUP

Zentangle pattern: ButtercupButtercup appears in Sandy Steen Bartholomew’s, Totally Tangled, the book I recommend to anyone new to drawing because of the very helpful tips in it. When I first got the book I drew this pattern a lot because it’s such fun to draw and I was fascinated by how it comes together.

It’s also one of my favorite types of tangles, a grid-based pattern.

Until now there have been no online instructions. But now there are!

Buttercup is included as a sample “swatch” in Sandy’s latest book Tangled Fashionista and when Sandra Strait recently wrote a review, Sandy gave Sandra S. (are you still with me?) permission to post the steps along with her review.

Sandra illustrates the steps for drawing Buttercup, here.

Check out the tag sandyb for more of Sandy’s patterns on TanglePatterns.com.

I am having a problem finding the instruction on how to draw a buttercup. The link above take me to Sandra Straigts blog page. If you clink on buttercup in her post it brings you right back to this page. I feel like I am going in circles. Can someone enlighten me as to where to find these instructions?

    Thanks, Jo Ellen

Hi Jo Ellen, I hope by now you’ve found the instructions – they’re on the page you arrive at from the link. Read that page and you’ll find the steps.
