How to draw OKE

Zentangle pattern: Oke Tasmania, Australia‘s Michele Beauchamp, aka Shelly Beauch on flickr, was inspired by “the gold English oak leaf which decorated the royal carriage” in the Royal Wedding (two weeks ago today!) to create her Oke tangle pattern. This is Michele’s own illustration.

I particularly like the variation in line weight of Oke giving it a nice sense of scrolling, flowing movement. And of course a wee touch of shading gives it that extra pop. Michele illustrates how to draw Oke here, and uses it as the centerpiece of a lovely Zentangle® here.
