How to draw KUZEK

The tangle pattern Kuzek was created in a class by a friend of CZT® Laura Harms. It’s a variant on the official Zentangle® pattern Cadent.

As Laura points out,

“The trick with Kuzek is to alternate the direction of your ‘S’ shape when you turn the tile, as opposed to using the same ‘S’ shape as in Cadent.“

I found the backwards S shape quite the challenge at first. My brain was determined I was going to do a proper S, but once I got going and was able to shut down the inner art director it became less confusing and I really enjoyed the curvy flow of the lines. I also added a bit of shading for the fun of it.
