Chillon is one of the 102 original official Zentangle® patterns created by Maria Thomas and Rick Roberts and included in the CZT® certification program.
You can identify this and other official patterns using Sandy Bartholomew’s book AlphaTangle where she illustrates 77 of the official patterns.
Step-by-step instructions for drawing Chillon are included in Suzanne McNeill’s Zentangle Basics (where it’s called Tufts) and in her recent book Zentangle Fabric Arts. She has also posted step-by-step instructions for drawing Chillon, here.
Chillon is a simple tangle pattern to draw. The original official tangle does not have the solid fill I added here, and it can also be varied with different shapes where the lines intersect such as dots or crosses, shading, and filling in the white spaces with other design work.
