It’s odd and curious how tangles often appear in “sets”, it’s like a common wavelength is winding around out there or something.
On Friday we explored Judy Okawa’s intriguing Cee tangle, composed of C-curve shapes combined to produce a variety of interesting and unusual results.
Today we’re adding CZT Veena Arun’s C-rendipity which is also composed of the elemental curve C shapes. And it’s an entirely different tangle. Earlier this year Veena shared her pretty Zari tangle with us.
For those who aren’t familiar with Zentangle’s elemental strokes for deconstructing a pattern to be drawn as a tangle,
“Usually the number of elemental strokes needed are 3 or less. Often, you only need one or two.
By ‘elemental strokes’ we mean a dot, a straight(-ish) line, a curve (like a parenthesis), a reverse curve (like an ‘S’), and an orb or circle.“ ~ from the Zentangle blog
For an ingenious example of these elemental strokes used together as a tangle, be sure to check out CZT® Mina Hsiao’s Dicso. (Not disco!)
Veena illustrates the step-by-step instructions for drawing C-rendipity here on her blog where she demonstrates it in two examples showing two variations. The first is a very simple monotangle using rounding, one of six tangle enhancers, and the second is a duotangle including a webbed version of the Zentangle®-original Finery.
On this page Veena also posted an image of a page from her journal where she explores several different tangleations of C-rendipity to explore.
As you enjoy any of the tangles on the site, please do leave a comment of thanks and encouragement to show the artists you appreciate them for sharing their creativity to inspire yours.
Check out the tag veenaa for more of Veena’s tangles on TanglePatterns.com.
