At long last we reach our Memorial Day long weekend here in the USA, the first since February’s President’s Day! So it’s been a while coming, and much anticipated …
Robert and I are also celebrating our 51st Anniversary this Sunday (26th), not sure what our plans are just yet. We tend to be go-with-the-flow for any celebration — and we almost always end up at home enjoying excellent meals and fine wine reserved for the occasion. 🙂
On the tangling front, today we enjoy Canadian CZT Margaret Bremner’s striking Chebucto tangle from many a moon ago. Not quite 51 years, but a long time just the same.
Margaret reminded me of Chebucto in the comments on Cyndi Knapp’s J584, noting the similarities. Chebucto is a lovely woven-style tangle and it’s past time to resurrect it from the archives.
In her Chebucto blog post Margaret explains the geographic association with her tangle’s name and she includes two beautiful Zentangles featuring Chebucto. With her kind permission to share this with you, one of her Zentangles features this amazing swirl of Chebucto ribbons showing a bunch of ideas for variations.
Margaret illustrates the step-by-step instructions for drawing Chebucto here on her blog.
As you enjoy any of the tangles on the site, please leave a comment of thanks and encouragement to show the artists you appreciate them for sharing their creativity to inspire yours. Your thanks helps motivate them to continue to share! And please share a link to your favorite tangles on social media. Thanks!

- "A Zentangle has no up or down and is not a picture of something, so you have no worries about whether you can draw a hand, or a duck. You always succeed in creating a Zentangle." Thus patterns that are drawings of a recognizable naturalistic or actual object, figure, or scene, are not tangles. A pattern is not always a tangle — here's what makes a tangle.
