Greetings my friends, welcome back. As always, I’m dee-lighted to have your company 🙂
Our fun and easy Monday tangle is named Pippy and it’s from Australian CZT Sue Bailey.
Pippy is Sue’s fifth tangle on the site.
Sue introduces Pippy and explains her inspiration for both the tangle and its name:
One of the nice things about having the week off after new year’s is having the time to do fun stuff like shopping with my son’s girlfriend, and the brainspace for creativity.
My son’s girlfriend encouraged me to buy a new belt, and when I looked at it again at home this tangle (and the name), sprang into my mind fully formed.
The name “pippy” comes from a small Australian shellfish named pipis or pippis. I hope you enjoy it.
It’s certainly no mystery why Sue named her tangle after these delightful molluscs.
Sue illustrates the step-by-step instructions for drawing Pippy below and features it in three tiles which include her Desert Flower and the Zentangle®-originals Tipple and Moon Pie. The wonky zigzag version in the center tile is another fun way to experiment with many tangles.
As you enjoy any of the tangles on the site, please leave a comment of thanks and encouragement to show the artists you appreciate them for sharing their creativity to inspire yours. Your thanks helps motivate them to continue to share! And please share a link to your favorite tangles on social media. Thanks!

Great Aussie tangle Sue. I love its simplicity.
Pippy is such a pretty tangle. I know I will use it often. Thank you and your son’s girlfriend.
Sue B….looks like a goer, thanks for sharing, shall have a go with it. Right now I am in Orchid Mode, trying to tidy them all a bit after having been a bit neglected! All the best, and thank you too Linda for publishing Sue’s pattern! All the best to you both! Xx
Very pretty pattern! Thank you for sharing!
Thanks for the lovely comments everyone, enjoy!
I realised after sending this to Linda that you can do a “half pippy” as well starting with just one zig zag.
Back in the 70’s this was my first project in macrame – a belt!! Now its’ back to haunt me. LOL!!
Me encanta ver ese entramado tan espectacular!!! Súper!
Great tangle Sue, thank you very much!
From another Sue, well done, will be a fun play with this one.
