How to draw MOGOLLO

Brutal winter storms are a tough way to start a week, hope all affected – and even those who aren’t 😉 – are all warm and safe.

I had a bit of a brutal storm in the computer department yesterday and lost access to my hard drive. Still trying to figure out if it’s recoverable.

I’ll just say that if you use Piriform CCleaner software, under NO CIRCUMSTANCES do you EVER want to have it update your drivers! Leave your drivers alone. I used that option and now my computer won’t boot up and Robert-my-computer-expert thinks my computer’s been hacked. 🙁 Apparently drivers are especially vulnerable to hackers … Fortunately we have more than one computer in our household and my data is supposedly all backed up to the cloud. Getting it from the cloud to another computer is another matter entirely. As is getting access to my program files! Baby steps …

So, moving forward. Today’s fun, woven Mogollo tangle is from Colombian CZT Claudia Caro, who now lives in Sweden. This is her first tangle on the site.

Claudia writes,

Mogollo in Colombia (my country) means something that is easy to do or achieve. I believe this pattern can be easily drawn by anyone.

I have education as a textile engineer so anything related with fabric, yarn or knots always attract me. Therefore I have explored this so I can share with more members in the community.

Claudia illustrates the step-by-step instructions for drawing Mogollo below. She features it in three Zentangle tiles with the Zentangle-original Fife, and Tulipdue by Carmen Varela Trigo.

Thus patterns that are drawings of a recognizable naturalistic or actual object, figure, or scene, are not tangles. A pattern is not always a tangle — here's what makes a tangle.
