Hi everyone, thanks for stopping by.
Today German CZT Simone Menzel joins us to share her sweet Siros tangle, it’s her sixth on the site.
As she notes in her post, it’s been a year since she shared her Egganddart tangle with us and a lot has happened in that time.
“And staying more at home means more tangling and more creativity 😉 “
Much like Belgian CZT Ria Matheussen, and many other tanglers for that matter, Simone has a fascination with the styles of decorative visual arts, architecture and design of the Art Deco and Art Nouveau periods.
In her explorations she came across this image of an architectural panel and it inspired her to deconstruct it as a tangle. It reminded her of a rose, so she’s name it Siros. Simone’s rose?
I am rather happy with the tangle Siros, which is an organic tangle with lots of possibilities to vary.
It can be started not only with a pentagram, also with a hexagon and even with a circle!
Simone illustrates the step-by-step instructions for drawing Siros here on her blog where she includes pretty tiles featuring Siros and demonstrates some variations to explore.
As you enjoy any of the tangles on the site, please leave a comment of thanks and encouragement to show the artists you appreciate them for sharing their creativity to inspire yours. Your thanks helps motivate them to continue to share! And please share a link to your favorite tangles on social media. Thanks!

- "A Zentangle has no up or down and is not a picture of something, so you have no worries about whether you can draw a hand, or a duck. You always succeed in creating a Zentangle." Thus patterns that are drawings of a recognizable naturalistic or actual object, figure, or scene, are not tangles. A pattern is not always a tangle — here's what makes a tangle. Linda’s addition with the help of Google Translate: Super nice tangle, I’ll definitely try it, I especially like architecture / flower-inspired patterns.
Thank you for this lovely tangle! I can imagine so many ways I will enjoy using this! The most clever tangles often result in the simplest step-outs. Thanks again, Mary D’Angelo CZT 32
