How to draw RAYGA

Zentangle pattern: Rayga. Image © Linda Farmer and TanglePatterns.com. ALL RIGHTS RESERVED. You may use this image for your personal non-commercial reference only. The unauthorized pinning, reproduction or distribution of this copyrighted work is illegal.Today’s elegant Rayga tangle is from Dutch CZT Anoeska Waardenburg and it’s her second on the site.

Pip-in was Anoeska’s first, be sure to have a look as well as learn a little bit about her home town of Gouda.

Anoeska gives a little history about Pip-in as well while explaining how Rayga was born:

[Pip-in] was born a few weeks after my son Joren Pepijn was born. Whilst being half asleep, I dreamt myself a tangle: Pip-in. The name derived from my son’s second name Pepijn which is Pippin in English.

Ok, that’s history but… It happened again. Three months ago I gave birth to my second son Seppe Reger and even though he is a very good sleeper there still was this moment when I saw myself dreaming up a new tangle.

I decided to name this one after my second son. It is called Rayga which sounds a bit like Reger (when you pronounce it in Dutch that is).

Anoeska illustrates the step-by-step instructions for drawing Rayga below and she features it in an elegant duotangle with a variety of beautiful Tipple. Such great texture!

Thus patterns that are drawings of a recognizable naturalistic or actual object, figure, or scene, are not tangles. A pattern is not always a tangle — here's what makes a tangle.
