How to draw PIP PIP

Greetings y’all!

Lovely to see you again and I’m really looking forward to seeing what creative fun we can enjoy together for this brand new year …

Today’s cheerful Pip Pip is from tangler Ann N’Gadi and it’s her first on the site. Easy and fun, Pip Pip is a perfect Monday tangle.

Ann writes,

I am from Crofton, MD – just outside of Annapolis.

I was looking to try some new forms of art and fell into a Zentangle® class at my local community college. I enjoy tangling and trying to figure out what you can tangle with and tangle on!

Julie Allison was my instructor and I remember her saying to keep our eyes and ears open for inspiration – Pip Pip reminds me of the small birds chirping while on my walks.

Pip Pip is not only easy to tangle but once you start playing with it you’ll find it’s very versatile. You can scatter it in a free-form way around your tile, or place the elements in an organized pattern on an imaginary grid, or string them together in a ribbon-style tangle. They are fun to embellish a little too. As I look at my example I’m thinking a way to shade them to give them some dimension would be to add the small graphite curve we often place in orbs/pearls … an afterthought. (BTW, my example includes a touch of Therefore for balance in some blank spaces.)
