Today’s sweet and quirky Bichorn tangle is from Spanish tangler Isabel Gil.
Isabel is from Madrid and Bichorn is her first tangle on the site.
Isabel introduces herself and explains how she discovered Zentangle® (this is from her original in Spanish using Google Translate):
I live in Madrid (Spain) and I dedicate myself to teaching craft and decorative arts workshops for adults in cultural centers. I love my work!!
My first contact with Zentangle was years ago when I saw a drawing that caught my attention because of the framework it had, I investigated and now I know that what I saw was Fescu making some wonderful shapes. I fell in love immediately and searched until I found and bought the TanglePatterns.com GUÍA PARA PRINCIPIANTES de Zentangle® online. Since then my dream is to be able to get certified but for the time being I can’t afford it and I don’t speak English either.
I know I cannot teach Zentangle but I am aware of the good that it does in difficult times and sometimes my students need to disconnect from problems, so we make some drawing inspired by Zentangle and I see how they relax.
Today I have taken one more step towards my dream because knowing that a tangle is going to bear my name gives me energy to continue wanting to learn.
BIchorn is so fun to tangle, and quirky as I mentioned. All those little orbs popping up wherever they feel like, the connecting stems growing in all directions and little tendrils waving around …
Isabel illustrates the step-by-step instructions for drawing Bichorn below where she features it in a tile with the Zentangle-originals Marasu and a curvy version of Static (and “shares DNA” with similar tangles like River, Verve, and Dented Moon) with the tangle enhancer called sparkle.
As you enjoy any of the tangles on the site, please leave a comment of thanks and encouragement to show the artists you appreciate them for sharing their creativity to inspire yours. Your thanks helps motivate them to continue to share! And please share a link to your favorite tangles on social media. Thanks!

- "A Zentangle has no up or down and is not a picture of something, so you have no worries about whether you can draw a hand, or a duck. You always succeed in creating a Zentangle." Thus patterns that are drawings of a recognizable naturalistic or actual object, figure, or scene, are not tangles. A pattern is not always a tangle — here's what makes a tangle.
