How to draw BUGSY

We begin our fresh new week with Bugsy, a fun and easy Monday tangle from Singapore CZT Diana Tan.

A few weeks ago we explored Diana’s interesting Chairs tangle, Bugsy is her second on the site.

You can tangle Bugsy several ways — either organized in a grid or as a loose free-form style tangle. It works by creating a spaced out grid of “bouncy boxes” or by starting with one of those boxes then adding the tear-drop shapes around it and building out from there.

Diana didn’t mention how she came up with her tangle (and I forgot to ask) but she sent along these examples of ways to have fun with it. Lots of ways to embellish this one with fills, shading, varying the sizes of the elements, and whatever else your creative imagination can conjure up. Including ZIA color!

Diana illustrates the step-by-step instructions for drawing Bugsy below and features it in a simple monotangle.
