This past weekend the 2019 Rugby World Cup came to an end in the host-country of Japan. This means, of course, you won’t hear about it from me for another four years 🙂
But I’m not letting you off the hook yet! Last week South African CZT Milde Weiss shared her Crosskick tangle with us, inspired by watching the World Cup.
With South Africa’s well-earned triumph over England on Saturday, Milde was inspired to create her Victory tangle. She writes,
What an exciting, and for us rewarding, end to the Rugby World Cup 2019!
Initially it was a balanced contest, and we chewed our nails, but then the green and gold started getting ahead. Although England tried their best, the Springboks played their hearts out and ended victorious. We are celebrating!
Forgive me, but I could not help seeing another tangle as the champagne corks popped on the field and the bubbly started spraying into the air.
This tangle can grow in any direction, just as a rugby match can develop in any direction (up to a point!).
Either shade, or just thicken, the main ‘branch’ from which the next 3-line group will start. The lines can also be curved as seen here.
Have fun with this one!
Victory really is a simple and fun tangle to explore this November Monday. I love Milde’s curvy variation above although for my example I didn’t stray from her original instructions. I also explored creating it in a radial style, where the three strokes emanate around a center point. This produces an Ahh-like sparkly star effect which might be another useful tangle to use in your Christmas tags and cards. For those who are ambitious enough to do that sort of thing.
Milde illustrates the step-by-step instructions for drawing Victory below where she features it in a cool duotangle Zentangle with the Zentangle®-original Crescent Moon.
As you enjoy any of the tangles on the site, please leave a comment of thanks and encouragement to show the artists you appreciate them for sharing their creativity to inspire yours. Your comment helps motivate them to continue to share!
