Today’s Hallowe’en, and the official kick-off of what I’ve called “The Sugar Season”.
Hallowe’en, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Valentine’s Day, Easter = The Sugar Season. Yep, six whole months of non-stop sugar ingestion. Gad.
This reminds me of something I saw online a few weeks back, a slideshow of images showing kids’ hilarious answers to test questions. It takes patience to scroll through but the answers are indeed hilarious and worth a visit. We really need a good belly laugh these days. (If you feel like it, share your favorite with us in the comments.) One that tickled my funny bone in particular was this from a Math Test:
Q. Bob has 36 candy bars. He eats 29. What does he have now?
A. Diabetes. Bob has diabetes.
Out of the mouths of babes 🙂 .
And now for something completely different …
Pennsylvania CZT Suzanne Fluhr shares the source of her news-watching with her Seespan tangle.
In our case Robert and I are addicted to MSNBC‘s evening shows. Doesn’t quite have the same possibilities for a tangle name though does it. EmMessEnbeesee?? Nah.
Seespan is a cousin of Lisette Hofer’s ribbon-style Quagga, and I wouldn’t be surprised if Suzanne was subconsciously channeling it. But Seespan is different from Quagga, which you see on the right, and it’s another fun one to tangle.
Suzanne illustrates the step-by-step instructions for drawing her Seespan here on her blog where she explains how Seespan came about and she features it in several examples. I used one of Suzanne’s variations for my example.
As you enjoy any of the tangles on the site, please leave a comment of thanks and encouragement to show the artists you appreciate them for sharing their creativity to inspire yours. Your thanks helps motivate them to continue to share!

Another treat! A new Zentangle Video
Here’s a heads up in case you missed the announcement in Monday’s Zentangle newsletter. Rick and Maria posted a version of Molygon they’ve named “Articulated Molygon”. I’ve added this new Kitchen Table Tangles (KTT) video to Molygon. I always enjoy watching Maria’s pen, check out the link for the video included on the page with Molygon.

Lovely bordertangle, I like this new pattern very much!
Thanks for sharing my deconstruction of Seespan with the tangle.com community. I’m glad you chose to feature the variation (tangleation). I prefer it myself at this point. BTW, USA tanglers — VOTE! Bring your tangling supplies in case there’s a line. 🙂
Zentangle & knitting are both wonderful calming measures to make it through these frightening times. I adore Rachel, Lawrence Joy & Ari. Sanity in an insane world. Great pattern!
Lovely border tangle, I like this new pattern very much!
Than you for sharing your lovely tangle Seespan. I too like the striking result in step 8!
