I was delighted to see the news just announced this morning that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are expecting a child in the spring. Makes a welcome change from the daily dose of bad news. Prince Harry and Megan are currently visiting our friends in Australia for the Invictus Games in Sydney which begin this Saturday.
Today’s sweet, spirally and eeeasy Owline tangle is from CZT Jacki Rose, who teaches in The Villages, FL.
Owline is a tangleation and a tango (see here for the definition) of two Zentangle®-original tangles. This is Jacki’s first tangle on the site and as she notes,
“It uses a little bit of Zinger and Printemps to create a beautiful new pattern.
I am a CZT 15 from Milford, MA and recently moved to FL.
I have been teaching Zentangle since being certified in 2014.”
Owline is so simple and just plain fun to tangle. For my example I added a touch of shading to the Zinger-like bits to add dimension to them.
Jacki illustrates the step-by-step instructions for drawing Owline below where she features it in a monotangle demonstrating different ways it’s possible to “grow” Owline from its spiral base.
In addition to being a CZT, Jacki is a public speaking skills coach and professional speaker and she’s the author of several books including: Take Your Life & Love It and 11 Steps to Powerful Public Speaking. Visit Jacki’s site to learn more about her!
As you enjoy any of the tangles on the site, please leave a comment of thanks and encouragement to show the artists you appreciate them for sharing their creativity to inspire yours. Your comment helps motivate them to continue to share!

- "A Zentangle has no up or down and is not a picture of something, so you have no worries about whether you can draw a hand, or a duck. You always succeed in creating a Zentangle." Thus patterns that are drawings of a recognizable naturalistic or actual object, figure, or scene, are not tangles. A pattern is not always a tangle — here's what makes a tangle. TIP: tangles never start with pencil planning.

I like the freedom of this tangle. You can never go wrong with spirally printemps and zingers! Congratulations Jackie on your first pattern at TanglePatterns. It’s a lovely one.
Owline is a beautiful design that can stay politely in the corner, or sprawl across the entire tile! I love the possibilities! It is lovely!
Thank you for this fun tangle! It just kept growing and growing!
