How to draw POOMA

Zentangle pattern: Pooma. Image © Linda Farmer and TanglePatterns.com. ALL RIGHTS RESERVED. You may use this image for your personal non-commercial reference only. The unauthorized pinning, reproduction or distribution of this copyrighted work is illegal. We are all duly sprung-forward here in the U.S. of A., and it’s delightful to have another hour of daylight in the evenings. More to come with the warmer days of Spring …

Today we’re featuring Texas CZT Sandy Hunter’s Pooma tangle, a simple decorated orb. We recently featured Sandy’s Unbatz and no doubt you’re familiar with all her other great tangles?? (Be sure to check out her live tag below in the date bar.)

Sandy writes,

This pattern is named after my furry beast of a cat. (His name is actually Puma, but ‘POOMA’ is how he spells his name when he signs the father’s day card for Paul every year.) I have to say, for a cat with no opposable thumbs, he writes pretty well.

Sandy embellishes Pooma and places the motif side-by-side in a repeat pattern grid-style (sans grid) with the negative spaces between inked in. I went for a circular rendition just for fun in my example to be a tad different.

Sandy illustrates the step-by-step instructions for drawing Pooma here on her blog, and she includes twenty-four (24!) variations of her tangle for you to explore. And not to be missed, photos of Puma her shelter feline, being …. well, a fun feline 🙂

Monday Bonus! Pooma has a sister tangle named Corkin, coming up shortly …

As you enjoy any of the tangles on the site, please leave a comment of thanks and encouragement to show the artists you appreciate them for sharing their creativity to inspire yours.

Check out the tag sandyh for more of Sandy’s tangles on TanglePatterns.com.

Poona is a cute tangle..I left a comment directly on Sandy’s page. By the way, this whole one hour seasonal adjustment is being re-visited by a lot of organizations/individuals…Seems there some question on whether it’s really necessary!! ???

  • Pooma and Corkin are twin sisters enough just one in my tangle collection would be enough. They will be fun to play with at some point in time.
