How to draw HEART2HEART

Zentangle pattern: Heart2Heart. Image © Linda Farmer and TanglePatterns.com. ALL RIGHTS RESERVED. You may use this image for your personal non-commercial reference only. The unauthorized pinning, reproduction or distribution of this copyrighted work is illegal.Just in time for tomorrow’s Valentine’s Day, we have another sweet heart tangle from Australian artist Helen Williams.

A week or so ago we added Helen’s Heart Offset to our tangle resource and today we have another hearty one.

Helen writes, “I was pretty surprised to find I had another heart pattern left in me, but here’s one that I’ve been playing with and am really loving.

hart2hartDigression — How many of us remember the old (1979-1984) TV series Hart to Hart, about “The globe-trotting adventures of amateur detectives Jonathan and Jennifer Hart”? Loved that series! Tickled to see it available on Amazon. Memory lane …

Helen’s Heart2Heart has an underlying ogee grid to start then just a couple of simple strokes later and bingo, you have Heart2Heart.

If you’d like some tips on how to draw this type of grid (or reticula) here’s a tutorial on TanglePatterns, “How to draw three types of grids for your Zentangles” that includes a free PDF download.

For my example of Heart2Heart I used Helen’s suggested variation of alternating the direction of the hearts. Also gussied up my version 🙂

Helen illustrates the step-by-step instructions for drawing Heart2Heart here on her blog where she includes a ZIA sample on a wonky grid and demonstrates it in a video too.

As you enjoy any of the tangles on the site, please do leave a comment of thanks and encouragement to show the artists you appreciate them for sharing their creativity to inspire yours.

Check out the tag helenw for more of Helen’s tangles on TanglePatterns.com.

Happy Valentine’s Day!

I hope your day, your week, your month, your year is sweet and full of love …

I do believe that Helen is the queen of hearts. Thanks for another heart tangle.

  • Thank you for the lovely comments, and thanks Linda for featuring this pattern – I’ve been having fun with it! Hart to Hart – what a flashback! I remember watching it with my mum when I was a kid. Happy Valentines Day! hx

I don’t know how I miss a tangle but apparently I missed this one. I find the OGee grids very challenging but on this tangle it is very forgiving. I’m so glad I found this one. It is beautiful. Thank you Linda for the Tangle Refreshers. And a belated thank you to Helen for sharing. Helen, I adore **all** of your tangles!
