Last Friday when I added Lollywimple to the site I mentioned that my solution to the “no pencil planning” dilemma was inspired by another tangle.
Ponio is by Taiwan CZT Damy Teng and coincidentally she submitted this to TanglePatterns right about the same time Sandy posted Lollywimple.
Ponio seems to have a Cadent-influence to its aura strokes. Damy also sent along a page from her sketchbook where she experimented with variations of Ponio, however she provides steps for the “easy to learn and good-looking” version.
For my example I turned the orbs of Step 1 into black pearls.
Damy demonstrates her deconstruction for drawing Ponio below and shows three ways to vary the basic tangle with a little Fescu (Zentangle®-original) and Henna Drum (CZT Jane MacKugler) added.
This is Damy’s sketchbook page showing her Ponio experimentation:
As you enjoy any of the tangles on the site, please do leave a comment of thanks and encouragement to show the artists you appreciate them for sharing their creativity to inspire yours.
Check out the tag damyt for more of Damy’s tangles on TanglePatterns.com.
