Breezy is a new grid-based tangle from German tangler Sandra Schubert who has contributed Strings to our community resource but this is her first tangle on the site.
Sandra writes “it’s shaped like small wind wheels and so I named the pattern ‘Breezy’.” I think Sandra is referring to the children’s toys we know as pinwheels.
The strokes of Step 2 in Breezy can be drawn as a continuous zigzag line that changes direction halfway down the grid square then crosses through the corner into the square below. Remember to turn your tile! I quite liked the tangle when I’d finished Step 4 as shown on the right. The addition of a simple connecting line in Step 5 changes the look of the tangle completely as shown in my first example above.
Sandra illustrates the step-by-step instructions for drawing Breezy here on her blog where she also shows a few variations to try.
As you enjoy any of the tangles on the site, please do leave a comment of thanks and encouragement to show the artists you appreciate them for sharing their creativity to inspire yours.
