Hi y’all, it’s Monday and that usually means a super simple tangle to get your week underway.
El Prado is an elegant organic tangle from CZT Maria Tovar of Madrid, the capital city of Spain, and it’s her first on the site. “El Prado“, Google Translate tells me, means The Meadow.
Maria has been a CZT since June of 2014 and you can learn more about her and how she discovered Zentangle® by visiting her profile here on zentangle.com.
For my example of El Prado I chose an unembellished version and I like how crisp and clean this vine-y tangle looks. Whether you draw it with the Step 1 undulating line condensed as I have, or languidly stretched out, the result is delicate and very pretty. I have a booklet on the Art of Mehandi and in it the author calls this type of design a “creeper”. Like a creeper vine, El Prado can wander and weave all over your tile.
Maria illustrates El Prado here on her website and demonstrates several ways to vary this easy tangle. The “drop shadows” she’s added practically lifts El Prado off the tile.
On the same page Maria features a tangleation of the Zentangle-original tangle Ahh! There are countless potential variations (tangleations) of Zentangle’s fun sunburst pattern. For example here’s a page with many more variations of Ahh!
As you enjoy any of the tangles on the site, please do leave a comment of thanks and encouragement to show the artists you appreciate them for sharing their creativity to inspire yours.
