Composed of delicate Ionic-like scrolls together with hearts and an aura, Funsin is truly simple to draw.

Having said that, I should point out that a genuine tangle is always easy to draw, “one stroke at a time“.

Occasionally one tangle might require a little more concentration than another, but still in all when taken one stroke at a time an authentic tangle can be drawn by anyone and everyone, regardless of any so-called “skill” level. And it’s that concentration and focus on deliberate stroke-making that brings the benefits of the Zentangle Method™.

About her Funsin tangle, Yu Ru writes,

The thought of “holding the feeling of love in the hand”, so the design of this pattern.

Zentangle let me have a feeling of stability, so the election of the “Funsin” the name.

I’m not sure how to accurately interpret that, but I think we get the gist of her sentiments.

Yu Ru illustrates the step-by-step instructions for drawing Funsin below with a few Zentangle®-original tangles featured as a border in her sample tile.

Here in a pretty ZIA piece on a Zentangle tile, Yu Ru features Funsin with the Zentangle-original Printemps. I like how she spotlighted Funsin radiating from the center of the tile.

“What the World Needs Now”

What the world needs now is love, sweet love
It’s the only thing that there’s just too little of
What the world needs now is love, sweet love
No not just for some but for everyone

Lord we don’t need another mountain

There are mountains and hillsides
Enough to climb
There are oceans and rivers
Enough to cross. enough to last
‘Till the end of time

What the world needs now is love, sweet love

It’s the only thing that there’s just too little of
What the world needs now is love, sweet love
No not just for some but for everyone

Lord we don’t need another meadow

There are corn fields and wheat fields
Enough to grow
There are sun beams and moon beams
Enough to shine
Oh listen Lord if you want to knowWhat the world needs now is love, sweet love
It’s the only thing that there’s just too little of
What the world needs now is love, sweet love
No not just for some but for everyoneWhat the world needs now is love, sweet love
What the world needs now is love, sweet love
What the world needs now is love, sweet love
What the world needs now…
