Happy Monday and welcome to August too! In some provinces of Canada it’s also a summer holiday long weekend so party on …
Flutter is a tangle from West Virginia tangler Beth Snoderly, who as you may know has lots of great tangles on the site and a fair few Strings as well. You can locate them all by using her last name in the Search TanglePatterns.com box at the top right of any page.
“Flutter can be started with either dots or lines. It basically looks like netting with popcorn in the middle. I was trying for butterflies and it ended up looking like popcorn.
I center four teardrops, mark off about a third of the way up and add petals in behind the teardrops. They can be made large or very tiny.”
As Beth notes, the shapes in Step 2 are teardrops so you get a pointy top with a loopy bottom that has the space to add the next Steps. Easy tangle, very pretty result!
Beth illustrates the step-by-step instructions for drawing Flutter below including a standard grid variation, and she features Flutter in a simple monotangle.
Check out the tag beths for more of Beth’s tangles on TanglePatterns.com.
