Congratulations to all the graduates of CZT10!

Vanity is an easy, simple ribbon-y tangle pattern that is so flexible and fun. You could use it along a border or string, in a section, or fill up a whole tile by playing around with it in Hollibaugh drawing-behind fashion.

Vanity was created by tangler Laurie Rosin from Florida’s west coast and this is her first on the site. She named her tangle Vanity because “its inspiration was the drawer pull on my bathroom vanity doors”. Below is a photo Laurie sent along of the model for her tangle.

“You already know a little about me, as you were kind enough to publish my story on your website, about using Zentangle to clear my mind while slaving over manuscripts written by beginning authors. Before I became a freelancer, I edited 38 national best sellers, and I’ve been an editor for more than 30 years.

I make greeting cards, have stenciled the walls in my house, and create beaded jewelry. I have hosted Zentangle classes in my home and given my instructor, Mary Masi, an open invitation to teach more classes here. I’m also a professional writer and have been a Writing Fellow for the National Endowment for the Humanities.”

In her steps below for drawing the tangle, Laurie also shows Vanity in a completed Zentangle. This one has all kinds of possibilities. Have fun!
