How to draw CVETIC

Zentangle pattern: Cvetic. Image © Linda Farmer and TanglePatterns.com. ALL RIGHTS RESERVED. You may use this image for your personal non-commercial reference only. The unauthorized pinning, reproduction or distribution of this copyrighted work is illegal. If you’re looking for an amazingly versatile tangle pattern, check out Cvetic by relatively new tangler Ksenija Vojisavljevic of Australia.

There are four easy steps to it and numerous variations with different fills. The starting inspiration I found in my favorite shapes of a bow and a daisy (my daughters say that I like ‘girly girl’ stuff). The name Cvetic comes from Serbian language meaning little flower.

This is just one of a whole range of possible variations with her Cvetic tangle pattern. Ksenija illustrates eight variations (and two bonus ones in steps 2 and 3). The variation I’ve used for my example isn’t even one of her suggestions!

I think you’ll have a lot of fun with Cvetic, and here are Ksenija’s step-by-step instructions for drawing it.

Love this beautiful tangle! Can’t wait to try it. I wonder why I can’t “pin” many of the tangles I see here onto my Pinterest zentangle board? Is sharing/pinning not allowed?

    • Linda Farmer

Hi Dorothy, glad you love the tangle. I have big issues with Pinterest and here’s the reason why: http://is.gd/SN74qP

Edit: there is one “pinnable” image on TanglePatterns, that’s the badge at the bottom right side of any page.

Thanks Linda for the info on Pinterest. I will be deleting my account. I support fellow artists and photographers, being an aspiring nature photographer myself. BTW, LOVE Zentangles and love your site! Keep up the good work!

Thanks for the info, Linda. I was surprised to hear about the copyright infringements, too… I bet they’ll find themselves in a heap of trouble over this!

      • Thanks, Linda, for posting this blog reference. Something about Pintrest has always left a bad taste in my mouth and this has helped me put my finger on it. I’ll be deleting MY account as well.

What a wonderful pattern & so many ways to use it. Thank You!

  • I LOVE it! The variation possibilities are just so exciting!!! Thank you so much for this one, Ksenija and Linda!!

  • Rose

I’ve had a very long day traveling so I can see a surgoen tomarrow.I was totaly wiped out and didn’t want to do anything but get a shower and go to sleep but seeing this pattern has already recharged me and I can’t wait to try this! I’ve been wanting to try using just one tangle and with all the opptions this is going to be fun! Thank you Ksenija for sharing for sharing this great versitle pattenr! Ps. Linda thats for the link about pintest! I think a lot of people don’t stop to think about all the work an artist puts in they’re pieces or the joy they feel when they are able to share it with so many people! Of course the idiots who start abusing, defacing and running away with other people artwork never give a second of to how it must feel when copy writed material is swiped!

    Hi Linda,

Thanks for the link to, and information on, Pinterest. I had no idea copyright violations were going on, but will now cancel my account. I certainly don’t want to hurt any artist or photographer by (innocently!) taking away their potential income!

  • Sue Zanker

I will cancell my pininterest account immediately…STEALING, which is what it is, somoneone’s work is the lowest of the low, as I have had it done to me years ago in another situation, but it leaves a dirty tastse in the mouth, I can tell you !

  • OOOoooh – this is another FABULOUS Tangle – another instant favorite! I LOVE the simplicity of this, and how many variations are possible – simply perfect! Thanks for sharing another great Tangle! 🙂

  • ksenija v.

Thanx everybody for lovely coments, it makes me really happy that you enjoy it!

Thank you Linda for that article link on Pinterest. I had no idea that sort of thing was happening. I have posted my own tangles and my own zentangles on there as well as cards I have made, but I don’t really care as for me I have no interest in selling anything, but I have seen some of my cross stitch patterns that are either my copyright or the publishers and have seen them up on etsy and other places that sell items. Someone mentioned it to me from a cross stitch group that they saw a couple of my designs someone was selling, and both were directly from the publisher since that is the only way my designs are out in public. I didn’t say anything to them since I don’t have the means or way to sue.
But I had no idea anyone could take a photo off of pinterest to do anything with. I pin things of interest to my boards and I imagine many would not use them for anything but to see what others are doing. I don’t know about flickr or other art groups on the web that have that problem. That is sad as I really do love pinterest for finding inspiration, especially in seeing tangles and ZIA and cards, but I know this copyright thing is a nightmare on the web.
Well anyway I am glad to know that you don’t allow pinning from here. Thanks for that.
    Dorothy Roller
