How to draw NIPA

Nipa is a tangle pattern introduced by Zentangle® originators Rick Roberts and Maria Thomas.

It has been quite some time since instructions for drawing another of the 102+ Zentangle®-original tangles have been posted online so I can add it to TanglePatterns. Yesterday Suzanne McNeill added to our trove with her illustration of how to draw this fun pattern so naturally I had to jump on it. [Suzanne’s link no longer works, see below.]

Nipa also appears in Suzanne’s Zentangle 3 book and in Sandy Bartholomew’s AlphaTangle. Just for fun I adding shading and solid fills to some of the orbs.
