A couple of weeks ago when I added Sharon Caforio’s Sparkle tangle to TanglePatterns, I enjoyed playing with a shape that’s a little unusual from those we often see in our tangles.
I recalled another tangle pattern using that shape, and here we have Chordin by Elena Hadzijaneva.
You could vary this in a fun way by alternately stretching and shrinking the “eye”, and of course with different fills and shading. Stacking them up produces an interesting all-over pattern.
Chordin also makes a good border or stripe tangle and Elena illustrates the step-by-step instructions for drawing it here.

I have taken to using Pinterst to *pin* patterns that I want to try. The creator of these directions disabled sharing so I can’t use Pinterst. That’s really a shame.
I support her decision completely. I have big issues with Pinterest, as I’ve written before – as explained here, it’s a haven for copyright violations. Artists of any type should beware of Pinterest.
