Video of 7 official tangle patterns

This post contains a videoOften it’s helpful to watch someone drawing a tangle pattern for you to get a feel for how to do it yourself. Many of us are just “wired” that way, as my husband would say. (And another good reason to take a class from a CZT®.)

In this video taped at July’s Craft & Hobby Association (CHA) trade show meetings in Chicago, CZT® Sue Jacobs demonstrates 7 official tangles. First Sue traces around circular metal tags to create a string on a sketchbook page, then she fills each section of the string with a tangle. This is the order of the demonstration:

  1. Keeko
  2. Bales – one of the most versatile (tangleationable?) tangles there is
  3. Echoism – bonus! There haven’t been online instructions for this one until now.
  4. ‘Nzeppel – think Led Zepplin (yeah)
  5. Ahh
  6. Jetties, and
  7. Meer.

I will warn you this 10-minute video doesn’t start out great but hang in there with it until about 1:45 when the camera zooms in so you can see Sue drawing the patterns, and the sound improves so you can hear what she’s saying. Enjoy, and learn!
