Tangling on Silk

Earlier this year Suzanne McNeill participated in a weekend art retreat taught by her CZT® colleague Angie Vangalis. In this 4 minute video you’ll meet Angie and watch Suzanne creating colorful hand dyed silk scarves incorporating tangle patterns. This is another fun technique combining the art of Zentangle® and fabric arts with beautiful and inspirational results. Enjoy!

Be sure to visit the “VIDEO” tab in the alphabetical listing above for more excellent Zentangle® video demonstrations.

I love the results with the zentangling on silk. I used to create marbelized silk scarves years ago and am now inspired to do my zentangling on silk. May I ask where to find the gold resist?..and which fabric/silk dyes do you use? How delighted I am to be reminded of the silks. Another art play on my list to do.
    thanks so much,
    ruth

I am going to the Zentangle and Silk Painting retreat at the end of the month with Angie. I am so excited…can’t wait!

  • I know this article was last year, but this takes me back in 2010 one year for Christmas I made my 2 Sisters, My Mom, Mother N Law, Cousin (who’s name I selected for gift exchange), A dear Friend of my In Laws each a Zentangle silk Scarf. I even added color to these scarves. They turned out beautiful. I drew tangle patterns on a couple of nice silk shirts for my Father N Law and a color-less shirt for my Husband. They all loved their silk items. It became a the hit of the year.

Can you tell me where I can purchase the frame to hold the silk scarfs? Those scarfs would be great gifts so I need to experiment now. Thanks much.
